U10 CH Ray White R/E V Lake Cathie
We went to Cathie for the early start. We scored the first goal but then they matched it. Before half time we managed to get one up on the opposition. We had no subs and the boys were making the most of the situation. Second half came and Cathie matched our score. In the end it was a 2-2 draw. It is now time to put in the big effort for the finals!See you all at training on Wednesday.
U/8 Widders Consultancy v Port United Koalas
With the season winding down it was good to see everyone on the park for our third last game. Even though struggling with illness the Redbacks started off with a solid game scoring the first goal. With Jack in goals the boys had to help Jeb up front with great ball skills and teamwork. Half time saw the score at two each. Straight back into the game saw Port United score and take the lead. This lifted the Redbacks. With fantastic chase and teamwork they were able to score and level the game at three all. Man of the match was Timothy McVerry who is showing great improvement from the seasons start. Two goals to Jeb, one to Jack. This Sunday is our Gala day see you there.
U/13 CH Laundry Girls v
Went 2 down as we ball watched a little but to our credit with just 10 players we fought back but with no luck. Struck the post twice and then wickedly Saints put in a 3rd goal – final score. We need to spark up more next week in the semis. See you at training.
LUSC YD1 v
The lads wrapped up the minor premiership with a 3 nil win. Two to Josh Robbo and 1 to Tromp. A catch up game on Monday August 11, will have no bearing as we go to the semi’s at 6.30 at Dixie Friday night. Being first we play fourth place (whoever it may be) Excellent season thus far lads if you don’t make the game see you at training Wednesday 5.30. Go you Redbacks. Hopefully we can bag both trophies.

A lovely day on Thursday last, the weather was good, greatly appreciated by 90 odd bowlers. Congratulations Jerry and commiserations Peter. Next week August 14, the final of the triples will be played and the contestants are Ossie Garland, Arthur Stewart and Jerry Janik playing Jock Wyper, A Beattie and Ray Allan. Best of luck to all the players. On the social side of our great game, the results are 1st winning team, Jerry Janik and marker F Honeyman, 2nd winning rink Bob Constable, Kevin Niess and lucky Les Thompson, 3rd was Kevin Wormold, Robert Milner and fearless Fred Easterbrook. First runner-up Alan Russell, whiskers Col Huntley and Les Tobin, 2nd T Teffler, John Bennett and K Kirkland, 3rd runner-up C Harbon, Pat Guthrie, Tommy Gun, S Gunns. All mixed bowls of course so get your name down now. I can assure you it will be a great day. Hope everyone is enjoying good health and happiness. See you all on Thursday.
Last Tuesday Major Final saw Glen Kunze taking his Tuesday night points score to an amazing 65 points, 11 points clear of his nearest rival G Beaver. In last weeks final, he just managed to beat “Ron Charlies Angel Howell,” who is doing it tough this year. Next week will see him receive a new hip replacement. Good luck Ronny, all our thoughts will be with you. Minor Final Back Packer has talent to burn, no wonder Jimbo and Bundy just keep leaving the empty glasses on his personal “clean table.” Snow drop just keeps in the points score picture, this was his 22nd appearance but will miss this Thursday night due to a quick visit to Port Hospital. Next week will see a special write up by one of our numerous members. Talking about members what about the return of the “Big Man” Steve “Darrell” Cook still had paint on his arm from a hard days work. His dad Barry Cook did the same sort of work and was one of the most popular “Presidents” our club has ever had (he always had a shower before he played). Also another intending member Steve Gedle looks like he could put the sweeper through some of the smarties – needs a few games before he has a go.
Thursday night “Lady Thea” returns “I just like flying” (she jumped out twice) this trip was to Melbourne. (The grandson was Baptised). Final Peter Mayne stopped talking long enough to send “The Farmer” home (enough said).
The “Snake Man” was runner-up but his points go to 57 he leads “Snow Drop Kid” by 6 points. Minor Final “Go Otto” he nearly put poor Ronny to sleep. K Jarrett wins the”dead chook” but Kevin and the “All Stars” play Saturday September 27, a great night.
All the action is heading our way. The AGM will be a classic.

Well, another Bato’s day run and won with $1500 raised for the RDA. A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a great day. John Gawthorne needs a big mention, without him I doubt it would have been as great a day as it was. Back to our normal comp 12 starters for a chilly start to a Sunday morning. Single Stableford was the game of the day with dairy Dave winning with a massive 30 points. (Take note handicapper).
NAGA went to pretty in pink Bob. NTP’s few and far between. Singles matchplay starting in a fortnight and a few other things coming up so come to golf to find out the details.
Off to Wauchope on a cold morning but our boys were far from cold – they were hot, hot, hot!! Lachlan Hudson was on fire, best game all year, good going Lachlan. Lachlan Hayman was in the thick of it all, Riley was out there rolling around, Alex and Josh O’D had a mass of tackles, good going you two, but Matt topped the tackles with 16. Tom, Jarmyn and Jarod really are a force of strength for this team. The awesome foursome Marcus, James “kicking McKenzie and Scott all got 1 try, 1 goal each. Zack impressed us all with his try and Josh K had a fabulous game 1 goal. Good game boys. Camden Haven 30, Wauchope 6. Get better soon Harry.
