Sogtballers line up, it’s almost game time

The Camden Haven and Port Macquarie Softball Association have seen a renewed interest in the sport with team numbers doubling last season.

Comprising of teams from Wauchope, Taree, Laurieton, The Greater Camden Haven, Lake Cathie and Port Macquarie.

The Port Macquarie teams usually dominate the competition but the Camden Haven Indians in only their first season in the comp didn’t let them have it all their own way. The girls combined to form a great competitive unit making the division one play-offs.

The Indians Soft Club’s new committee for 2008-09 have appointed Jodie Murphy (originally from Southern Districts) to spearhead the club in the coming season. Jodie comes to the area with high credentials, having played at the elite level herself and coached successful teams at state level.

The Indians Softball Club would like new girls to join the club. Experienced and beginner players are most welcome. Minimum age is 14 years.

Intending players need to get in early as positions will fill quickly.

Seniors fees for one season $100, Junior fees for one season $60.

All games will be played at the Port Macquarie Softball Complex between 2pm and 6pm on Saturdays. The competition proper will commence early October 2008, and conclude, March 2009.

The Indians are pleased to announce that Estream 4×4 will be the team’s major sponsor once again in season 2008-09. Further sponsors are most welcome.
