Memorial golf day success

Co-ordinator John Gawthorne from the LUSC Social Golf Club not only ensured a successful day but managed to play himself into the winning team. He is pictured with Wendy Barbato from Laurieton and her son Simon who travelled up from Sydney to compete in the event.96 starters participated in a 3 man ambrose event at the recent Ian(Bato) Barbato memorial golf day at Camden Haven Golf Club. Leading the way was the team of John Gawthorne, Mark Facer and Grant Fisher who took out the event with a score in the mid 50’s. $1500 was raised on the day for the Kendall Riding for Disabled Association (RDA).

Other golfing highlights on the day included a hole in one on the 9th for Mark Overton and an Eagle for Ben Romer on the 18th when he chipped out of the bunker with one bounce into the hole.
