Exciting times for young representative footballers

2009 will see new opportunities opening up for the young representative players of the mid north coast.

Two competitions, one revamped and one new will be conducted and both competitions offer new challengers for our players. They will be conducted in the age groups, 13,14,15 boys and 15 girls. The competitions will be known as the Regional Youth League and the Northern NSW Regional championships.

The Regional Youth League will consist of teams from Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie , Hunter Valley and two teams from Football Mid North Coast, one based in the Manning Great lakes area and one in the Port Macquarie Kempsey area. It will be a three round weekly competition played over 15 weeks on a home and away basis and conducted on Sundays. This competition will be structured around the Federation run Regional Championships.

The Regional championships will be contested between teams from Northern Inland, Hunter Valley, Macquarie, Football MNC and North Coast, and played on a Home and away basis. Matches will be played approximately once every three weeks.

Our teams for the Regional Championships will be selected from our Youth League teams on a weekly/monthly basis as required.

The Development squads will continue as before with 11 and 12 boys and 11 and 13 girls.

Dual registration will be permitted by players, but on the basis that their first and main commitment is to the Zone Teams.

Negotiations and planning for both competitions is still a work in progress. A draft draw for the NNNSW Regional Championships will be available shortly and will be available on the zone website.

Interested players are also advised that information regarding trials for all zone representative teams are available on the website. Trials commence this weekend on the seventh of September.
