Customers urged to reward their favourite businesses

TAMWORTH and the region’s businesses are up for scrutiny again this year with the launch of the Tamworth Regional Quality Business Awards.

The awards have been running for 22 years, rewarding the region’s businesses that go above and beyond the call of customer service.

“They are the only major business awards open to all businesses in the Tamworth Regional Council area,” Tamworth District Chamber of Commerce president Chris Power said.

“The nominations are made by customers and peers and mean that good service is rewarded.

“This year is also the first time we have a rural category which recognises businesses in rural products, rural manufacturing and farms. This opens it up to many companies.”

This year is also the first year of Joblink Plus’s sponsorship of the awards.

“From our point of view as a community organisation out there trying to help people with employment, we encourage businesses to give quality customer service and a good level of service to visits to the community helps everyone,” Joblink Plus chief executive officer Chris Sheppeard said.

“We want to increase the level of customer service by employees and help businesses to grow.”

The nominations have started and you can pick up a form from many businesses in Tamworth and the region, including Joblink Plus, The Leader and the Chamber of Commerce. Nominations close on August 19 with the awards’ dinner on September 16.

As an incentive to nominate your favourite business, there will be weekly draws with a $50 voucher from the Quality Hotel Powerhouse to be won by the nominee.
